Guatemala Candelaria

Named after the Cenotes de Candelaria, this lot comes from a region of that is famous for magical natural pools that change colors from turquoise blue to a light green, Huehuetenango. This is the highest elevation growing region in Guatemala, and produces some of our favorite coffee in the country. All of the farmers who contribute to this lot handle their own coffee from growing, to wet milling, and even fully drying. They have access to lots of natural water sources and makes use of that in processing their coffee. The region also benefits from a number of microclimates that come from the blend of warm air that comes up from the Plains of Tehuantepec in Mexico, and the cool air that comes down from the Cuchumatanes Mountains.
